The below list of best hotels in Paris are the coolest small boutique hotels, the less known, the more unique and local, the less cookie cutter, the more versatile. From one of Paris’ first royal residences turned small boutique hotels, to works of art that belong in the Louvre and jewelry that was stashed away during the building of Place Vendôme…to of course, small boutique hotels that host the hottest more millennial focused rooftop bars and restaurants in town. You can find this and more in each of the small boutique hotels I’ve selected.

If you want to know where all the young travelers are staying and posh locals are hanging out in Paris, then head to Hotel des Grands Boulevards. The intimate room and the fact that it was a somewhat small boutique-like hotel pleased us. After all, intimacy is part of the Parisian charm. The designer of the hotel, Dorothée Meilichzon’s, use of pastel colors, geometric motif carpets, curved mirrors and designer furniture sourced from craft stores around the world give it a unique blend of cosmopolitan and French country feel. Hotel des Grands Boulevards makes elegance looks effortless. They transformed the inner courtyard terrace outside our bedroom into a chic garden retreat in the hustle and bustle of le coeur de Paris.

Mimicking their dinner, which was one of the best we had in Paris, breakfast proves to be equally as delicious. It is a young persons haven with just the right amount of activity yet secludedness to satisfy everyone’s needs. And for breakfast? You can enjoy the view from your own private inner courtyard.

When in Paris, if you’re looking to be at the center of the art, jewelry, and business district while literally being within arm’s reach of history at every touch, then stay at Hotel Mansart. It’s truly uplifting to see that management at Hotel Mansart, run by Esprit de France, is still striving to preserve the beauty and dignity of such a worthy place. Hotel Mansart is an 18th century mansion steeped in art and history at every corner. The history is what makes it a unique stay in the heart of Paris, just steps from Place Vendôme, the Opera House, and the Louvre.

Our Superior room had it’s own 18th and 19th century sitting room with an antique round table as the centerpiece surrounded and dotted by vibrant yellow, purple, and blue striped upholstered chairs. The window had a view down a classical French street rich in architecture. The hotel has over 120 works in the rooms and public spaces from period paintings to statues and furniture. During the Second Empire Alexandre-Gabriel Lemonnier, Jeweller to the Crown, lived here while trying to make Place Vendôme the jewelers’ district. During this time, he would hide all the jewels behind the indoor shutters of Hotel Mansart to protect them from theft. The indoor shutters were kept in the hotel suites to this day. Guests can enjoy breakfast in room with the newspaper or they can have breakfast in the dining area.
