title-meridienAfter a 6-hour drive from Greenwich, CT to Montréal, Quebec, my boyfriend and I arrived at the Le Méridien Versailles, a contemporary château-like boutique hotel amid the historical downtown district.

Upon arrival, our car was valeted and we were given a key card up to the eighth floor. As we opened the door to our suite, we stepped into a contemporary yet historical room with a mid-sized window wall offering us views of Mont Royal Parc and its beautiful fall colors.

The details were impeccable. From the historical French-like heaters and contemporary crystal ball lighting, to the complimentary water bottles and cappuccino’s at their breakfast bar, the room was a reflection of Montréal as a whole–historic yet contemporary.

After a long afternoon wandering the streets of Vieux Montréal, my boyfriend and I proceeded to enjoy a long dinner at the boutique’s renowned restaurant Branzino. We enjoyed a lovely evening sipping on the restaurant’s finest Pinot Grigio chilled in a wine bucket stand next to our table. We ordered the obvious choice on the menu, the Branzino with Sweet Potato Risotto and grilled vegetables–a true epicurean delight. To finish off the evening, a 20-minute wait was worthwhile for the chef’s freshly made chocolate soufflé topped with homemade almond ice cream.

As we made our way up to our suite, satisfied with the light and exquisite meal we had just consumed, we decided to indulge in breakfast in bed the next morning. We eagerly filled out our breakfast room-service forms and hung them outside our door.

We received a 8:45AM wake up call to a French hotel staff member who delivered our breakfasts to us. We indulged in the delicious French pastries and cheese omelet with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee–a luxurious breakfast indeed.
