ralph_coffee_launch_NYCRalph Lauren has introduced a new lifestyle product, and no it is not clothing, it is coffee. When in the mood for a taste of the American dream’s aristocracy and refined lifestyle, I go to Ralph’s Coffee. Ralph’s Coffee is brewed and packaged in Philadelphia by La Colombe, but it doesn’t stop there. Ralph has extended his coffee line to include clothing items and accessories under the Ralph Coffee brand.

Ralph's_Coffee_Espresso_Bar_EntranceAs you step out of the elevator and onto the second floor, an aroma of coffee fills the room. The scent of coffee reminded me of home. It reminded me of when I’d wake up in the morning to the smelI of coffee as my mother made cappuccinos and croissants for breakfast and reminded me of the morning cafés in Italy. This reminder of home, family and the people and friends I love was exactly the emotion Ralph wanted to evoke. In an interview he states, “the smell of freshly brewed coffee evokes so many memories for me, mostly of time spent with friends and family, the people I love.” The café was a perfect mirror image of his brand which evokes ideals and values of the Ralph Lauren family lifestyle.

I took a seat and looked through the menu that includes coffees, espresso drinks, teas, bottled beverages, muffins, scones, mini pies and sandwiches and settled for an espresso macchiato and two cookies. The espresso was quite good and the cookies even more so. The views of Fifth Avenue from the windows were amazing and really gave me a taste of the luxurious Ralph life.

Before leaving I was tempted to buy a tin of whole bean Ralph’s Coffee, but I resisted the urge as I thought of the hundred Nespresso capsules I still had at home. I think I’ll finish my Nespresso capsules first..! While walking home, I was already starting to miss the Ralph Lauren ambiance and lifestyle. Right before I could brood over my emotion any longer, I ran into their vintage Ralph’s Coffee Truck that can be found around New York offering on-goers coffee as well as pastries. A sense of belonging came over me, I still felt like a true Ralph Lauren girl.
