Surrounded by the red Ourika Valley mountains, neighboring Berber villages, lush landscapes and the snow-capped Atlas mountains lies Kasbah Bab Ourika. Dine beneath unpolluted night skies, bask in the breathtaking 360 degree view while reading a book, or indulge in a spa treatment. Kasbah Bab Ourika is the ultimate romantic and genuine Moroccan escape.

For the first half of my experience at Kasbah Bab Ourika, visit Stay in Kasbah Bab Ourika – Day 1. The next day the afternoon was equally as foggy, but the temperature was a bit warmer. The breakfast was plentiful and diverse – rich in eggs, pancakes, homemade marmalade, fruit and yogurt! Lunch was an unlimited Moroccan barbecue. Pat and I sat in our usual spot facing the red Ourika Valley mountains and ordered a bottle of rosé. We decided to take the rosé from our lunch and bring it over to a lounge area in the gardens while we read our books. Once again, Kasbah Bab Ourika is the place you go to if your looking for views, peace, tranquility and a romantic and restful stay.

At 5PM Pat and I went to the lounge area in the middle of the Kasbah to enjoy the complementary afternoon Moroccan tea and sweets – a perfect mid-day snack! The wifi at Kasbah Bab Ourika is very limited, you only have access to it in the reception area and it is pretty slow. Some would consider this a negative, however I think it adds to the experience. It really allows you to unplug from society and the rest of the world and just focus on complete relaxation and enjoying the moment.

Come 6PM, Pat and I were escorted to the spa room facing the Ourika Valley for our 30 minute full body massages. The massage was very different from an Asian massage, but equally as satisfactory! The woman covered my body in Argan Oil, a great natural moisturizer and skin booster, and got me relaxed from head to toe. I highly recommend partaking in a massage or hammam bath at Kasbah Bab Ourika. It is an intimate experience that will add even more relaxation to your stay!

On our final day, the sun finally came out..! So Pat and I put on our suits and ran to the pool. After spending a morning lounging around the pool area, we had a filling lunch and sadly and reluctantly departed from the Kasbah..we had not felt this relaxed in a while!

The Kasbah offers a variety of experiences including the opportunity to learn how to make fresh Moroccan mint tea using tea leaves from their garden, culinary classes, exploratory excursions of the Berber villages next door and trekking opportunities. Unfortunately, Pat and I did not stay long enough to be able to partake in these experiences, but I highly recommend you all do them if you all stop for longer than 2 days.

As Pat and I left, we couldn’t help but stare back at the amazing views Kasbah Bab Ourika had to offer. The red Ourika Valley mountains, its neighboring Berber villages, lush landscape and snow-capped Atlas mountains in the background. We already missed the idea of dining beneath the unpolluted night skies of Kasbah Bab Ourika, a romantic and genuine Moroccan escape, but promised ourselves we would be back soon..

  4. Oh my goodness be still my wildly beating heart! Going to Morocco would be a dream trip for me. I’ve wanted to go there for years. I’ll be sure to follow up on your other posts regarding it.

Was this spot expensive? Also was it easy to get around in the area where you stayed! I have so many questions !

    1. Hi! I am so glad to here, thank you! 🙂 It was a bit more on the expensive side, but not too expensive depending on the time of year you go and the accomodation you choose. I must say though, the price is totally worth it. It was very easy to get around from where we were, but it takes a bit to get used to driving in Morocco..! Feel free to ask away all your questions 🙂
