Svadore is a travel and lifestyle website that offers a local and intimate perspective into elements of travel that make each destination, each interaction, each experience, and each stay personal and unique to the individual traveler. While cliché experiences and attractions are important, Svadore takes you one step beyond helping you find your own personal connection with each destination. My mission is to:

Meet Sveva Marcangeli, Founder & Editor
My name is Sveva Marcangeli. I am an Italian-American travel writer and itinerary planner based in Greenwich, CT, with a background in media at brands like AFAR, DEPARTURES, and Cosmopolitan.
Born in Hong Kong and raised between Japan, the US, and Italy, travel is my life. I spent every summer of my childhood in my parents’ hometowns of Milan and Lake Maggiore, giving me a native perspective on European travel that goes beyond the guidebooks.
Why trust my advice? My work has been featured in Oprah Mag, Kayak, Taste Atlas, Reader’s Digest, and SELF. Unlike anonymous directories, I personally vet every location I write about. Today, I specialize in curating luxury and boutique travel experiences, focusing on moments that make trips personal.
I speak three languages (English, Italian, French) and use my background to break down the barriers of travel, taking away the fear and replacing it with connection.

3 Things You Should Know About Me…

Pastries
I hate candy, but I have a sweet spot for pastries. There’s nothing more fulfilling in my mind than a well-made croissant, a baked good, a cake, a cookie, a donut, a dessert. Couple it with a cappuccino…and we’ll be friends forever.

Architecture
If you ever see me walking by any type of building, town, village, restaurant or even wellness spa that has an eye for design and architecture or a nod to local tradition, you will catch me swooning. I have a particular soft spot for arches.

Cultural Nuances
I have a thing for cultural nuances. But I guess that’s the whole point of my website right? I keep an eye out for anything that can only be experienced in this one destination, in this one place, in this one restaurant, that make the place unique. Like handmade goat milk soap from a farm in Turkey.
