Using their newly opened Madison Avenue store as their stage, sisters-in-law Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard allowed renowned San Francisco designer Ken Fulk to turn their basement into a plush, bohemian apartment with leopard print covered walls and pop art for their Spring 2017 ready-to-wear runway show. The cofounders of Veronica Beard wanted to make the show a memorable event, somewhat of a grand opening of the store and help women fall back in love with brick-and-mortar shopping. The two sisters-in-law started their brand back in 2010 with their signature Dickey – part blazer, part hoodie – the perfect American sportswear allowing seamless transition from classic to cool. The brand has now evolved into taking iconic American sportswear staples and transforming them into ready-to-wear collections created for seamless real life transitions.
Their spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection was classic Americana with a touch of prep, utilizing the upcoming election as their inspiration for the red, blue and white. Not necessarily my choice of style for the spring, but perfect for those few occasions out in Connecticut or in the Hamptons.
