After establishing their career at de la Renta for the last 12 and 6 years as studio directors, the duo took off and created their own label. The Spring 2017 collection was a trendy reiteration of their previous collections – simple shirting, unusual fabrications, asymmetry, high-concept gowns – that incorporated the off-the-should trend seen on the runways this season.
Ruffles, lace, tulle, layers and prints recall scenes from Proust's À La Recherche du Temps Perdu. Many of Zimmermann's looks featured the off-the-shoulder trend that seems to be very popular throughout New York Fashion Week and will definitely be seen as we make our way to Spring 2017. A perfect balance of light layers, sheer, and long sleeved crop tops make Zimmermann's outfit a perfect addition to everyone's Spring wardrobe.
Rising brand Brock Collection caught my eye at this weeks NYFW with its Spring 2017 collection. Started only 3 years ago in New York City by husband and wife tag team Laura Vassar and Kristopher Brock, this women's ready-to-wear line has created staple and timeless pieces for any woman's wardrobe.
Stepping into the cave dwelling is like going back three centuries. The breath-taking abode is made of local stones, antique floors, black stone called "Pietra Pece" – a speciality of the Ragusa and Modica area – and decorated with 18th Century Majolica pottery from Caltagirone. It is this preservation of 18th century remains and charm that make this ancient city a UNESCO heritage site.
An evening out in Modica, Sicily, the birth place and inspiration of Dolce & Gabbana. On our way to the renowned restaurant Osteria Dei Sapori Perduti, frequented by all the locals of Modica, we stopped by a picturesque balcony to take pictures of the scenic town at dusk while wearing my Dolce & Gabbana dress, well-suited for the occasion.
Enjoy an intimate luxury stay with epicurean delights, limited-edition wines, breath-taking views at Barone di Villagrande. One of the oldest wineries in Sicily nestled among forests and historic vineyards, 700 metres above sea level on Etna’s slopes. The vineyards, that make up over 95% of the estate, slope down towards the sea into a natural amphitheatre.
Sevilla’s charm comes from its Moorish influence. The narrow, winding streets endeavor to block the sun and hot African breezes from filling the maze-like cobblestone streets, the whitewashed houses and Baroque facades enchant travelers at every corner and the flamenco shows echo throughout the night–it is truly a city for the senses.
