An End of Year Letter from the Editor

This year has been an unforgettable year to say the least, for many reasons. We’ve had to navigate through ever-changing rules and try and make the most out of what we could. We learned to appreciate the small things, re-center ourselves by revisiting old hobbies or diving into new interests, take a moment of pause to reacquaint ourselves with our hometown, state, or city, and it was a chance for us to remember what it is that we love about this world, even when things are taken away from us. Not everything that came from this pandemic was negative. There were a lot of positives and I like to focus on those things.

I want to make SVADORE a safe place where you could escape from the reality of the minute, where you could catch a glimmer of hope, and actually feel comfortable considering travelling again. While the pandemic has paralyzed many with fear, the world has done it’s best to reopen in a safe manner and make it possible for people to travel. And SVADORE was here to tell you it was and is possible. I wanted SVADORE to be a place of hope and confidence that would inspire you to travel the world again, whether that’s just a few miles from home, in your state, in your country or abroad.

This year, I myself took the time to revisit many places and get in touch with what it was about travelling that I loved. I spent sometime in my hometowns of Greenwich and Feriolo in Italy. I explored my own state and was reminded what it was that I loved about the state of Connecticut. I visited local towns, local stores, and more. I travelled to nearby states like New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. And when things opened, I flew to the Caribbean and to Southern Italy.  

SVADORE is a place of positivity. A place of escape. And I wanted to keep it that way. I hope that you’ll continue to turn to SVADORE in 2021 as your media of choice for positive and inspirational content that’s trying to help get the world back on it’s feet and out there, starting with following my trip to Utah into the New Year from Dec 27th to Jan 4th on Instagram.
