Kava Cafe is where you can snag some of the best, most addicting, piping hot mini doughnuts in all of Breck.

On your way to the Breck Gondola, you’ll stumble upon a small wooden cafe that looks to be the size of a Nordic steam or sauna room. What draws you in is the freshly fried smell of mini-doughnuts that permeates the air. When you enter, the small locale is decorated with local artists paintings and pictures. Kava cafe is small with only a few single seats available. It’s a place for grab-and-go right before you hit the slopes or if you’re looking for a mid-day pick-me-up.

The family-owned cafe is known not only for their family friendly service, but also for their high-quality and coveted freshly made hot mini doughnuts. The doughnuts are made in a small frier for everyone to see. The batter gets dipped into a bucket of hot oil, then flipped and covered in your topping of choice. The options include powdered sugar, cinnamon, or a mixture of the two. We opted for a mixture of course. The doughnuts are served to you in a warm paper bag, ready to be devoured. The doughnuts are affordable, with a half dozen costing only $3 to $4.

If you want a beverage to go along with your doughnuts, Kava Cafe offers freshly brewed coffee. If coffee isn’t your thing try their Kava, a cold beverage that combines kava root, coconut milk and fresh ginger. It’s delicious I promise! After grabbing some doughnuts, either hit the slopes or explore more of the Victorian-town of Breck.

NOTE KAVA CAFE’S HOURS:
Unfortunately, Kava Cafe is only open in the mornings. They open at 8AM and close anywhere between 12PM and 2PM depending on the day. If you decide to spend your morning exploring Breck instead of hitting the slopes, then it’s not a problem. If you decide to hit the slopes, the only time you’re really able to stop by is before you get on the Breck Gondola or during a lunch break in town as a mid-day pick-me-up. Kava Cafe is closed on Wednesdays, so make sure to check their hours before you go.
