With only a day in Dublin, Pat and I had to make sure our home base was centrally located yet quiet enough that we could get a good nights sleep after a 7-hour flight. Trinity City Hotel checked off all the boxes.

Less than a 10-minutes walk from all the SVADORE itinerary POIs including Trinity City College, Grafton St, Temple Bar area, and more. Our flight landed early Friday AM, so we were at the centrally located Trinity City Hotel by 9AM. Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we had a sip of the complementary lemon and cucumber water, left our bags with the receptionist, and used the restroom in the breakfast nook to freshen up. The hotel was super festive for the holidays with Christmas trees around every corner and Christmas lights draping every inch of the hotel.

We only had one day to see Dublin, so spent the entire day exploring the city. We checked back into the hotel before dinner for some R&R. We stayed in a Deluxe Room with a Juliette balcony. Unfortunately it was raining when we checked in at night, but we got to enjoy the balcony in the morning. The Deluxe Room had an enormous King bed facing the balcony. Complimentary water bottles were provided for us on either side.

A large flat screen TV and desk area were available for our use as well. All we could think about was how we needed a well-deserved shower. We hadn’t showered since our flight! The marble bathroom was spotless. It featured our favorite shower, a rain shower, as well as some standard toiletries. After freshening up we made our way out to dinner.

After a satisfying dinner at L. Mulligan’s Grocer, we headed back to Trinity City Dublin. As I opened the door the bed beckoned with its fluffy duvet and mounds of pillows. We got into our PJs and burrowed down under the soft cotton sheets. With the faint noise of bars in the distance, we drifted to sleep. The next morning we woke up to a beautiful view from the Juliette balcony. The balcony featured a glass ledge enveloping the balcony, 2 chairs and a table, and views of the surrounding Dublin area. The rain had passed and the sun was rising above the houses below. We saw a faint rainbow in the distance.

That morning, we packed our bags and headed back to Bread 41, our go-to breakfast place, a 30-second walk from Trinity City Hotel. We grabbed some to-go pastries for the road to Cliffs of Moher and said goodbye to Trinity City Hotel. Had we had the opportunity to linger around another night or two, we would’ve explored the festive bar area in the lobby. It was packed with locals at every moment of the day during our stay and seemed like a nice place for a drink and some Christmas cheer. But that will have to be for a next time. Book now, rooms start at $250!
